I am happy to report that my little Emma is no longer "the troublemaker" at preschool! Both times this week I had glowing reports from her sweet teacher. It could have something to do with the fact that I offered her a bag of Skittles if her teacher told me she was good. I'm not above bribery.
I had my concerns about how it would go. On Sunday she was in nursery and I looked throught the peephole to see how she was doing - you know, new ward and all that. Well, the kids were sitting at the table eating snacks and I looked and looked but couldn't see her anywhere. I was starting to get a little worried, so I opened the door and looked in. While all the other kids were eating their snacks like nice, normal children, Emma was under the table barking like a dog. I talked to her about it when we got home and she kept complaining that they were kicking her! I told her they were probably not so much kicking her as looking for a place to put their feet and that she was not allowed to pretend to be a dog at church or school - just at home. I felt kind of mean, squelching her little individuality (or whatever barking under the table is) but she also was on her hands and knees barking her way out of the chapel after Sacrament Meeting.
Then on the way to preschool on Monday she announced, "I think I am going to sing Ariel at preschool today." If any of you have ever seen this phenomenon, you know it can be funny/a little creepy as she walks about waving her arms around and singing really loudly and off tune. So I was the squelcher once again and told her she was not allowed to sing Ariel unless her teacher asked her too. Who's the party pooper here? I guess that's my job these days. But she got her Skittles. Except for all the pink ones, which I stole when she wasn't looking.

My little barking Ariel licking chocolate chip cookie dough from the beater...

Ba ha! she is so funny! Someday she will be so embarrassed by these stories...
I think I need to hang around Emma more.
She is such a character, as you obviously know. I think we all could learn from her. I miss you guys! At least you're with family. How's everything going? The pregnancy?
What an imagination. That is a hard one, let her be herself, or try to make her conform to the social norm. Good luck on whatever you decide and I'm excited to watch it all unfold via blog! Miss you!
I LOVE HER!!!!
What a cutie.:)
Emma is so stinkin cute!! I am really glad to hear that the move went alright and you are getting settled there. I am sorry about you missing Johnny though. I'm sure that's hard. We should be leaving here in about 1 1/2 weeks if all goes well, visit fam, then off to Germany in Dec. I'm excited/stressed/nervous... but mainly excited! We miss you guys!

I think my boys will take over Emma's troublemaking role nicely!!
I'm willing to bet that you were just like that as a kid! If I had to imagine a little Amanda... you would have had a tone of personality and imagination, too. So funny, so cute!
