My favorite thing that happened today...

...was Emma sticking a Nerd up her nose. Poor child was crying and crying and I could not stop laughing. She doesn't know how to blow her nose, so that wasn't getting it out. She kept saying, "I didn't know it was going up there," which I find interesting since she must have put it there. Eventually she whined about it long enough that her nose kept running and the thing just fell out. I have to say that I LOVE Nerds and my favorite flavors are the Cherry/Watermelon combos and I get a little irritated because most stores only carry the Strawberry/Grape combo.

My second favorite thing was Emma trying to stop Matthew from getting her stuff. She wrapped her arms around him from behind and pulled. Well, she only outweighs him by about 6 lbs, and they toppled to the ground together and he was actually pinning her down for a minute there. Sigh. Sibling rivalry. You gotta' love it.

Little Miss Dancer Pants

Jonny's Mom, aka Mimi, made Emma the cutest little tutu while we were in Texas for Christmas. She loves to wear it pretty much all day with her little frozen legs poking out underneath. The whole winter concept hasn't sunk in with her... So Mimi, this one's for you - Emma twirling herself silly in her tutu and ballet shoes.

A lady in our neighborhood teaches dance and last week Emma went to class for the first time. She loved it and said, "I hope I can go back there again." Imagine her delight when I told her she can go every week! I was actually suprised and thrilled that she liked it so much, because she usually has a hard time adjusting to new things. She wears a litte black leotard with pink tights - I about died from the cuteness of it all - and they do mostly ballet and a little tap. She did have a couple of little spills in the tap shoes. Who knew those suckers would be so slippery?

And here she is, posing for the camera in her version of a dance move.

Lonely Pregnant Person Ramblings...

It's late. I should be in bed. But I hate going to bed without Jonny. AND I hate getting up 2x/night to go to the bathroom because a wee lass is sitting on my bladder. So I sit up and read people's blogs that I don't even really know until I am so mind-numbingly tired I can't even think straight. And some of my thoughts are these:

-Why on earth do I bother dragging an 80 lb. diaper bag to church every Sunday when my children are bored and crying within 5 minutes anyway?

-To the female jogger that I almost ran over at 6:30am: The fact that you have a thin, reflective stripe down the front of your chest is more than a little bit overwhelmed by the fact that the rest of your outfit is black and you are running 5 feet out in the road. Are you crazy? Wait, you are out running at 6:30am in the freezing cold. You must be crazy.

-To my dear, dear Matthew: I am glad that you are developing in new ways all the time. However, your new words, "LET GO!! NO NO NO NO!" are getting on my nerves. Stop screaming at me and stop screaming at Emma. People are going to start saying you have a red-headed temper or something like that.

The end.

We're Back - Sort of

We got back on Sunday from our trip to Texas to see Jonny and his parents. I still feel slightly out of it - dazed and confused from traveling with two children by myself - something I swore I would never do again! And now I re-swear never to do it again! It was so amazing to spend two weeks with Jonny and just be able to relax and enjoy having our family together. I felt so content, regardless of what we were doing, as long as we were together. I even sat through an entire football game, so happy I was to sit by him and hold his hand!

These are some of my favorite pictures from the trip. This was right after we met up with Jonny at the Phoenix airport and opened our little envelope from the ultrasonographer telling us the sex of our baby. I kept trying to talk to Jonny but Emma was not having any of that. She wanted his complete attention (I guess we all did)and I finally told him I would just wait and talk to him later. I sat back and watched the kids climb all over him and play with him and it did my heart good.
