Conspiracy Theory

Is it possible that these two are in cahoots, trying to systematically strip me of every last shred of sanity that I possess? Maybe it just seems like it. Surely they are too cute to do such a thing.

Mostly it is Emma that has been the...cahooter? the last couple of days. Yesterday I was paying some bills. The children were sitting literally two feet from me coloring with pens (not smart on my part, I know). After telling Emma multiple times to only color on the paper and after she colored on her leg, pants, chest, belly button and arm, I caught her coloring inside Matthew's ear. Like, as inside as you could be without some sort of surgical instrument. I told her to give me the pen and go to her room for a time-out. Shoulda' done that about 10 minutes earlier.

When I let her out of time-out she was rambling about a new potty that she had in her room. That reminded me that she hadn't gone in a while and had consumed a large amount of chocolate milk earlier. I said, "Well, let's go get on your old potty and go." She ran into the bathroom and when I went in to check on her she was just sitting there on the potty, not going. I asked her, "Why aren't you going potty?" and then the terrible realization started dawning on me. A new potty, in her room?

I left her sitting on the toilet to go check, and sure enough there it was. A BYU 5 Gallon Ice Cream bucket that had been filled with toys was in the corner, full of potty. Disgusting.

Oh dear! Sounds like Emma is one spunky little thing keeping you on your toes. I am a firm believer that our children are so incredibly adorable so we don't completely go insane on the more difficult days. Just looking at these photos makes me want to say, "What? No not these angels, they would NEVER create a 'new potty' that Mommy would have to clean up."

LOL, when Jonathan was first training, and was kind of... curious, He used his art cups to potty in-and not number one. It only took a minute for me to start laughing... of course the cups didn't have toys in them.

A new potty. Emma is a time-out genius! X is in more of the driving-mom-bonkers stage where I feel pressed to say No! a lot and cut off his activities, like taking away the fishing pole he found tonight and was hitting everything with! Maybe I just need to live with you so I can get that daily dose of laughter all the magazines say is essential to our health!
