A Love Story

Valentine's Day. I know it's just a day, but I've been pretty sad that Jonny and I would not be together for it. It was to be our third one apart - last year I was in Utah for my sister's wedding. The year before that he was off doing training again. Thank goodness for a faithful/thoughtful visiting teacher - she gave me my only Valentine that year!

So out of the five years we've been married, we've only had three together. And then, suddenly, we decided last week to buy a plane ticket and my love is coming home for the long weekend! I couldn't be more excited. We haven't told Emma yet, because Jonny wants to surprise her.

In honor of the upcoming dreamy-ness, I am finally doing a husband tag that cute Miss Amy R. tagged me on many moons ago that I never did...

1. Where did you meet?
Ward Prayer - cliche, I know.

2.How long did you date before you got married?
Two months and 10 days.

3.How long have you been married?
Five and a half years.

4. What does he do that surprises you?
I have to think about this one more. He's not very sneaky (sorry babe), so even when he tries to surprise me, I usually know something is up.

5. What is your favorite feature of his?
You know that line from "Runaway Bride" where the Grandma says, "I like his tight butt!" That, and his sweet blue eyes, and his laugh, and his tender heart. Yeah, I'm pretty crazy about him.

6. Does he have a nickname for you?
Babe, Baby

7. What is his favorite color?
Blue

8. What is his favorite food?
Chicken and Rice

9. What is his favorite sport to play?
Golf

10. When and where was your first kiss?
On the couch at his house after we watched "About a Boy." Eight days after we met.

11. What is your favorite thing to do as a couple?
I probably shouldn't say in so public a forum, on account of the delicate nature of it all. Probably our second favorite things are eating good food and cuddling while we watch a great movie.

12. Do you have any children?
Emma, Matthew, and one sweet baby girl on the way.

13. Does he have a hidden talent?
He is a great singer and a really good cook when he gets in the mood (which I wish was more often).

14. How old is he?
31

15. Who said "I love you" first?
I did, but only because he tricked me into it. You see, we had decided to get married before we ever told each other that, because we had only known each other for 10 days when we decided to get married. So it would have been kind of crazy to be telling each other that we loved each other, right? So he was leaving after we decided to get married and I was kind of hemming and hawing (whatever that means) and thinking "Well, I guess if we're getting married, I should tell him I love him?" And he could tell what was up and asked me what it was I wanted to say. There was no passionate declaration - more like an "I love you?" Kaelee, I know you understand me on this one.

16. What is his favorite type of music?
Umm, it's hard to say. He's pretty eclectic. A little of this, a little of that?

17. What do I admire most about him?
His unconditional love of me and people in general - his ability to accept people where they are.

18. Will he read this?
Yeah, if I "make" him.

Yay! I'm glad you did the tag. I picked you because I wanted you to think about all the wonderful things about your hubby since he was gone. I'm so excited that you'll get to see him this weekend. Nothing better than being together after being apart.

You cannot imagine the joy I am feeling right now at making an appearance in your tag. As I was reading it and it started sounding oh so familiar I was trying to remember if we'd shared dating stories and then there it was...my name. I'm so glad you guys got to spend V-day together!

how was the long weekend together? i'm sure it was heaven. :) i had a dream last night about you two - that you were moving to hawaii for the next 6 years so he could pursue "pharmaceutical science" and also that i met Emma - she liked cabbage/noodle soup. what is up with this? it was funny. so glad you have jonny - he sounds like a gem! :)

Di - perhaps you are a little psychic? I would LOVE to move to Hawaii and Emma does like some grody tofu/seaweed soup we got at a Japanese restaurant once, which is ironic considering the fact that she refuses most "normal" foods.
