Here today, Gone Tomorrow

We get him back today - only for about 12 hours and then he leaves again. It's better than nothing though!

And it's a good thing he's coming today, because it's this one's birthday today! The Big 2!



I don't quite know what to say about my little Matthew. He is a whippersnapper! He seems to see everything in life as a challenge, whether it's a really tall something he shouldn't be climbing on, or me telling him not to do something, or anything really really dangerous. Whatever it is he tackles it head on. My Dad said the other day, "If you put 10 things out in front of him, and 3 of them were dangerous or something he really shouldn't have, he would ignore the other 7 things and go straight for the 3." That pretty much sums it up.



He is a sweet boy. He loves his sisters. He is constantly bringing Sophie his favorite blanket and toys and piling them up on her while she sleeps. I have to unearth her several times a day. He calls her "Sopie" and comes to tell me, "Mom. Sopie cryin'." He gives the best hugs and kisses and loves to snuggle.



This boy loves to eat pinto beans. It's easy on me because I can just open a can and dump some on his plate and he is happy. So yesterday I noticed his nose was running and when I wiped it, out popped a pinto bean! Yep, it had been in there for a couple of days and I had no idea. I was laughing because he had just been at the doctor's office for his two year checkup and the Dr asked me if I had any concerns about him and I said no. Apparently I should have said, "Actually I'm a little concerned about the pinto bean he's had shoved up his nose for the past three days." Whew.
