So Jonny is gone again - off galavanting around the world and jumping out of helicopters - so it's just me and the kids. My sweet Mom has watched them for me every day so I can get a nap or run errands. She watched them the other day while I went grocery shopping. When I got home I let the kids in the house and went back out to unload the groceries.
First, Matthew shut and locked the door right in my face as I was carrying three gallons of milk and another bag of groceries. Fortunately Emma let me in.
Then Emma was running around in just a shirt and her underbooksies, which I noticed were on backwards. I told her to turn them around and then went out to get more groceries. The next thing I know, Emma is standing on the front porch (remember, we live in townhouses, so there are at least 5 people's front doors within ear shot...) in just her shirt - nothing on her bottom half. To top it off, she is holding the panties in her hand and shouting, "Mommy! These panties have some poopy in them!" I didn't respond, mostly because I didn't know what to say to my naked child screaming about poopy, so she repeated herself, louder this time.
It could be a long month.

Oh bless you! At least you've got your mom right? I just love all the funny things that come out Emma's mouth. I'm reading them out loud to Stuart right now.
I think you could sell Emma's quips to some sitcom. And, bless you, for supporting your husband.
GOOD LUCK!!!! All my love to you and your children.
It starts at an early age with the pestering from the boys. Its like they are just born with that gene. You are a champ!!
Emma is so cute. Do you want to do a park day or something again? Let me know. Good luck with Jonny gone- so sorry! :(
haha I love your kids. At least someday you can laugh about all of this, right? Especially when you see Emma and Matty going through the same things with their kids!?
amanda you have the best humor. your kids are so dang cute and the things that they say and do crack me up. we have to be neighbors just so i can sit and listen to you guys all day.
All I have to say is :)
Oh and... what does emma mean when she says she doesn't want to get beat up again?
You found me out Jacquelyn - I beat her regularly...I have no idea where she comes up with these things. Jonny tells her crazy bedtime stories every night, and I think it influences her little imagination!
I'm catching up, life gets busy. I'm sure you know. Isn't three crazy?! I'm glad you all are getting your groove back, especially when you groove so awesomely! Super-cute kiddos, hilarious conversations, gross poop, what's not awesome about that?
PS I forgot to let you know that as far as I know it's a negative for Reagan (the dr. said she'd call me back if there was sugar in her urine and I received no call so we're calling it good.)
Your kids are so cute! I didn't know you had another one. I guess I've been out of the family loop for awhile dealing with Colby's issues. Emma is so big. She was just a baby the last time we saw you guys.
Ok so I just finished reading all the way down the page. I'm sorry Emma has diabetes. It's not fun having a child with medical needs but I promise it will get easier with time. I didn't believe anyone when they told me that about Colby but we're coming up on his two year survivor date and each day there's a little more light at the end of my day. It's funny how trials are hand picked for us. I've always said the two things I don't think I could handle in my kids was autism and diabetes so what do I get instead a kid who had a stroke with kidney damage who can't talk walk or eat. I think I should have been a little more specific! I can laugh instead of cry when I say that now. Your a trooper hang in there.
At least they are very cute little rascals! I think that Liesel has the exact same shirt that Emma is wearing in those pictures. It sounds like something she would do - yelling about her poop standing naked on the porch. Don't you just love it!
By "she" I mean Liesel. I thought I had better clarify that.
logan is naked about 75% of the time, and half that time he is outside...and i let him, i guess i am a bad mom!
