It is almost time to pack away the summer jammies. It is getting colder at night and the kids huddle under their blankies when they watch their morning cartoons. And even though I bought them new winter jammies at Costco and Emma loves hers so much she that insists on wearing hers around the house - even when it's still 80 degrees outside - I am sad to pack away the summer ones.
Sad because I think they are the cutest thing ever and sad because of what it represents. I love the summer and am sad to see it go. And I really love the fall too, but I despise winter and and feel it coming fast.
The last couple months have flown by. We celebrated Jonny's 32nd birthday with Coffee Cake - his favorite.
Emma had her first swimming lessons and loved them. She now insists on burying her head in the bath water and blowing bubbles. Freaks me out every time. Matthew was devastated to be left out - he thinks he can do everything she does.
We took a quick trip to Colorado to see Jonny's two sisters and their families. We stayed in a beautiful mountain home and the entire visit was divine.
A summit of the red heads was held and all agreed that they are adorable.
Jonny's sisters watched our kids for us so we could go on a date. I made every effort not to talk about kids or work stuff. I could hardly think of a thing to say. Clearly we need to go out by ourselves more.
Matthew started sleeping in the "big boy bed" in the same room as Emma. This has been great because now Sophie is not in the room with Jonny and I. There have been some set backs, such as the other morning at 6am when a naked Matthew appeared at my bedside and said, "Mom. Need go potty." The next thing I heard was pee hitting the floor, sinking into our super thick carpet. It is kind of better when he is contained in a crib.

Awww, your kids are just growing and still as cute as ever. I actually need to go buy some winter jammies for Spencer. His pj pants are floods, and his t-shirts are almost midriffs. It's pretty funny. I'm lovin' the fall, but am actually looking forward to winter. Though I know we won't have nearly the winter you will be having.
I'm so glad you got to go on a little trip and a date with your honey!
They are so cute. I bet it is fun to sit outside their door, and listen to what they say. :-) Wahoo to having your room back, too. Miss you all!!
Loved seeing the photos of the grandkids, Europe and feeling the satisfaction that although Dad and I are leaving town, at least your little family is back together again. We love you all! MOM
