We found a great townhouse to rent while we are in our uncertain stage - who knows where we could be 3 months from now, but for the next 3 months we will be in Utah. Which means that I have a nice place to bring my new little baby girl home to(who apparently may never have a name because we just cannot agree on anything).
Today the movers came and delivered all of our stuff - who knew I would be so happy to see mundane things, like my dish towels?! But I am! Please bless we don't get arrested for 'stealing' our recycling bin from Monterey - labeled "Property of U.S. Government." I didn't think we'd have to tell the movers not to move that, but I guess we should have.
And, Jonny comes home in two more days! I cannot wait. He has diaper duty and keep Matthew from playing in the toilet duty for at least a month.
In other news, tomorrow is my sweet Emma's 4th birthday. Bear with me, if you will, while I reminisce a little...Four years ago today I was two weeks away from my due date. I went to work that morning and wrote up a to-do list: 1)choose a pediatrician 2)pack a bag for the hospital. I had an appointment that morning at 9am with the OB. He told me that I was definitely not having the baby any time soon and that he would see me next week. As I was leaving I mentioned to him that the baby had not been moving as much as normal. Just as a precaution, he sent me to have a non-stress test.
They realized after watching me for a while that when I was having contractions, Emma's heart rate was dropping. They thought the cord could be wrapped around her neck or something like that. So then they sent me over to Labor & Delivery to be monitored some more for a little while. They watched me there for a few hours and then told me that if things continued to look good with the baby for 20 more minutes they would send me home.

After the nurse left, I said a prayer and asked the Lord to bless my little baby. I said that if the baby was OK and everything was fine that I would be happy to go home and be pregnant another 2 weeks, even though that seemed kind of depressing after thinking I could deliver that day. And I asked Him that if something was wrong and the baby needed to be born that day that the doctor and nurses would see it and keep me there. Well, as soon as I finished that prayer, Emma's heart rate started dropping really low and then back up and just bounced all over the place. A couple of minutes later the nurses came rushing in and gave me oxygen and announced that they were going to induce me immediately.

Emma was born at 3am the next morning with the cord around her neck, but she was healthy and fine. I feel so blessed - I know she was OK because Heavenly Father answered my prayer. I still cannot think of that day without crying. What a delight she is to have in our family! She is a constant source of entertainment - good laughs and high drama. Happy Birthday Darling!
Do you see the attitude we are dealing with already? I keep asking Jonny, "If she is like this at 3 and 4, what will she be like and 13 and 14? I shudder to think..."

I'm sad to say I know exactly what you mean (I'm catching up with the last few posts).
