Congratulate Me & Announcing

I'm not pregnant, if that's what you're thinking. Although if I didn't know any better I would think I was because I cannot stop craving tacos. Non. Stop. Craving. I make them at least once a week, and this has been going on for several months now. Every time Jonny and I are sitting around wondering what to eat I always suggest tacos and I am just waiting for the day he freaks out at me and says, "What is the matter with you woman!? I am sick of tacos! Your freaky obsession is weird!" But he doesn't. He just goes along with me and I can't figure out if he just does it because he loves me or because he's happy I'm going to fix something and he doesn't have to do it.

No, I said congratulate me because I actually showered, did my hair, got dressed, and put on makeup today for only the second time in a week. I've done all those things separately this week, but not simultaneously. The girls and I have had a stomach bug that rocked our world and landed little Miss Emma in the ER. It seems that diabetes and incessant vomiting do not mesh well. But she is home now and right back to her sassy little self, so no worries.

Incidentally, her doctor in the ER was a kid that I went to high school with. Weird. I kept thinking, "They let you be a doctor?" And I kept thinking "Burriiiito," said in a skateboarder dude voice because that is what said doctor used to say when he thought something was cool. Kind of different. And I also kept thinking, "Of course. I would have to see someone I haven't seen for 15 years after I have been up half the night vomiting and up the other half the night cleaning up vomit. At least I put on a bra before I came..."

Also I would like to announce a new name for this blog: The Poop Chronicles. It seems there is no way around it. Our lives are just consumed by poop these days. It may part of the deal when you have three kids 4 and under...perhaps. Or perhaps we're just particularly poopy around here.

On Saturday night my friend was here visiting and I asked her if she wanted to come up with me while I gave Sophie a bath and got her to bed. I assured her, "It's the cutest thing ever. She just loves her bath and splashes all around..." It was the cutest thing ever. Until while frenziedly splashing she pooped in the water - not even a break in the crazed activity. Just poop floating around in the water all sudden.

Then Sunday morning I was dashing around trying to get the kids ready for church and came upstairs to find Matthew with a poopy diaper hanging around his knees and poop all over his hands. Lovely.

And there was this....and so many more like experiences that remain unwritten.

So there it is. The Poop Chronicles.

Ooh, I'm terrified of stomach viruses now! Charlotte had a mild one a while back and we struggled with lows for days!

Thanks for the laugh! I love that you had to start the post with the announcement that your not pregnant! Too funny. I'm so happy for you that you got to do that all at the same time. It's nice every once in awhile to do that. I find as long as I just don't come to expect it then i don't miss being able to get ready all at once. Sorry Emma was in the ER that's never fun. And just for a fun mental picture for you. Riley threw up all over Kristen at the movie theaters this week. Apparently red slushee and swedish fish are not the first things you should eat after not having eaten for a week because of the flu. Poor Kristen is probalby glad she doesn't have kids. Get some rest and I hope you get a small poop break!

Oh my! Sounds a little bit like our house, except that story about Emma. She's always giving a funny story.

I love the new name - so creative. I also love the pictures of the kids in pirate garb. They are darling. Glad to hear that you are getting back to some normalcy after your puke party. I guess if you had gotten sick after getting your taco fix you wouldn't crave them anymore for a while. Oh, well.

OH dear, oh dear! Even when you have a horrible time you find a way to make it seem lighter. I'm so glad to hear you are feeling better, smelling shower fresh and that Emma is home. I can't imagine... Also, I think your new blog title is perfect!

Well Aubrey, I did puke up tacos at that family barf party we all had in Hawaii. And it cured me of wanting tacos for a while...
